This applet is designed to generate an outline for a mathematically correct crocheted (or knitted*) sphere. All you need to input is your stitch and row gauge and the desired diameter of your sphere, and the applet will tell you the number of rows needed, the increases/decreases for each row, and how "perfect" your sphere will be. I'm working on an algorithm to distribute increases/decreases; for now, you'll have to use your best judgment on that.

*The geometry of this formula was designed for the discrete circular rows possible with crochet, not for spiraling rounds. However, it will do okay with continuous crochet or knitting rows, though I can't confirm that your finished product will be as close to spherical.

Select your units of measure, fill in your gauge and the diameter sphere you want, then hit "Calculate!"

Units:
Stitch gauge: stitches per ----
Row gauge: rows per ----
Desired diameter: ----

Hit "Calculate!" to display your results here.
